Biosketch

Paris Oikonomou holds an MEng degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), which he completed in October 2016. Since November 2016, he has been working as a research assistant at the Intelligent Robotics and Automation Lab (IRAL) at NTUA. During this time, he has contributed to several research projects under the EU HORIZON program (including I-SUPPORT and SoftGrip) as well as GR and EU co-funded projects such as iWalk. His research interests and expertise focus on motion prediction and planning, decision-making, and control of autonomous systems, with a particular emphasis on robot learning techniques for human/environment-robot interaction and soft robotics. Paris has also worked and contributed on surface reconstruction and completion methods for objects, applied to telerobotics and haptic systems. Since the beginning of 2024, he has been working as a research assistant at the Robotics Institute of Athena RC. He has regularly participated and presented his research at leading robotics conferences, including ICRA and IROS. Additionally, he has been a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2017.
