Biosketch
Athanasios Rontogiannis is an Associate Professor with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) since December 2021. He received the MEng in electrical engineering from NTUA in 1991, the M.A.Sc. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Victoria, Canada, in 1993 and the Ph.D. in signal processing and communications from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1997, with a scholarship from the Greek State Scholarship Foundation. From 1998 to 2003, he was with the School of Natural Resources and Business Management of the University of Ioannina, first as teaching/research associate and then as a Lecturer in Informatics. From 2003 to 2021 he was with the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens, where he reached the degree of Research Director and has been the Deputy Director of the Institute since 2019.
